Manage Workflow
The Planning and Construction Services Department of a large university needed a new workflow management system. Ten people need to approve each project; the names vary based on the project. QuickBase Services created a system to route approvals for building projects from one department head to another. With the new application, Planning and Construction Services had a central repository for approvals and much less paper.
Design Project Management Tools
The marketing department of a large bank needed an easy to customize, affordable project management system. QuickBase Services worked with this client to design and build a new QuickBase application. QuickBase Services then trained 140 people how to use the customized QuickBase. To reinforce important components, QBS recorded on-demand tutorials and provided on-going support to administrators.
Simplify Accounting
A Fortune 100 company has thousands of employees with corporate credit cards. Thousands of expenses had been charged on corporate cards and not submitted by employees. QuickBase Services created a database into which an AP manager could upload reports received from the credit card company matched with employee names and the employee’s managers. QuickBase Services designed automated reminders for employees and managers with open transactions.
Entrepreneurs: Grow your Business
A growing consulting firm was using a QuickBase pre-built sales management application. Company leaders quickly realized they needed help customizing the database. A QuickBase Services developer spent several hours understanding the organization's needs and making suggestions to enhance the QuickBase to increase productivity. QuickBase Services then conducted web-enabled training covering topics such as adding, editing, creating reports and importing/exporting data.
Create Executive Dashboards
Many of our clients need assistance creating dashboards in addition to database design and development. Our custom dashboards contain metrics, charts, trends and data visualizations. For example, executives at a professional services company needed better access to sales and customer information. QuickBase Services created dashboards that quantified sales processes. With this view executives are able to make informed decisions based on current data.
Simplify Existing QuickBases
Ten groups within a large internet service provider each had their own database. None of the groups were pleased with their database. The corporate IT group would not provide training and support. A QuickBase team was formed with one person from each group. QuickBase Services staff spent two hours on the phone with a representative from each group reviewing the group’s databases and needs. QuickBase Services then conducted day-long in-person training on QuickBase development. Topics included database structure, relationships, fields, reporting, roles, and forms. During the session, participants worked on separate applications.
Manage a Global Business
Executives at a global pharmaceutical company had to check multiple sources to track progress in clinical trials. QuickBase Services developed a suite of project management applications to track products, clinical studies, trials, contracts and staff. Cross-functional executive dashboards replace multiple sources of data. Managers can now identify how many trials are active, planned costs, and current staffing.
Manage Clinical Data
A University Center manages a state-wide social service program. Field staff collect metrics from multiple sites. Quickbase Services created an online tool to track service providers, inputs and outcomes.
Add Graphics to your QuickBase
Supply chain managers at a global consumer products company need to track graphics. Specifically, managers need a database to store files and display each graphic. QuickBase Services’ engineers built a QuickBase to display the graphics so that staff could view the contents of the files without having to click on each file name.
Integrate QuickBase with QuickBooks
A mid-size engineering firm needs to assign staff to multiple, simultaneous engineering projects and prioritize assignments. Time cards and project costs must be stored in QuickBooks. QuickBase Services reviewed the company's existing tools and talked with management about their decision-making process. QuickBase Services then created a QuickBase application to track projects, assign staff, collect time cards and analyze utilization rates. Data migrates to and from QuickBooks with three clicks.
Create Databases and Assign User Permissions
A Silicon Valley company needed a single, flexible tool to collect employee self-evaluations, manager reviews and corporate assessments of individuals with leadership potential. QuickBase Services worked with Human Resources leaders to turn their sketch of a talent management tool into a QuickBase. The database includes questions for employees only, managers only and executives only. The questions presented changed based on the employee's functions and previous responses. Employee data populated from SAP.
Build Better Systems
A mid-size communications company has prospective customers submit orders via the internet. Prospects were reviewed by corporate staff and assigned to regional staff. The company needed a better and faster process to track leads, sales, operations and ongoing account status. QuickBase Services led a 4-month business process re-design effort to map the current business operations. Based on this information, QBS developed a new database, migrated more than 200,000 records from the old system to the new and trained over 500 people how to use the new system.
